If your idea of a wedding day involves salty air, bare feet in the sand, a quiet corner of the Ionian coast and plenty of time to actually enjoy being together, Preveza might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Located in Epirus in northwestern Greece, Preveza combines beautiful Ionian beaches with forests, historic sites, charming seaside streets and a slower, more relaxed feeling than some of Greece’s better-known wedding destinations. The region has around 60 kilometres of coastline, with everything from long sandy beaches to smaller, more secluded coves.
And honestly, that makes it a pretty wonderful place to elope.

Why Elope in Preveza, Greece?
When couples picture a destination elopement in Europe, Greece often comes to mind. But Greece doesn’t have to mean Santorini or Mykonos.
Preveza offers something a little different.
Here, your wedding experience can be about exploring the coastline, swimming in the Ionian Sea, stopping for a long Greek lunch, wandering through a historic town and ending the day barefoot on the beach.

Beach Elopements in Preveza
The coastline around Preveza is made for couples who want their wedding photographs to feel natural and connected to the landscape.
One of the area’s best-known beaches is Monolithi, a huge stretch of sandy coastline backed by the Monolithi aesthetic forest. Local tourism sources describe it as one of the area’s defining beaches, with the forest creating a beautiful contrast between deep green and the blue of the Ionian Sea.
Imagine exchanging vows with your feet in the sand, taking a walk together along the shoreline afterwards, and letting your portraits unfold naturally as the light changes.

Preveza Elopement Photography
As an elopement photographer in Greece, I don’t believe you need to spend your wedding day performing for the camera.
My approach is relaxed and documentary. I want you to forget that I’m there as much as possible and simply enjoy each other.
We’ll still make space for beautiful portraits, of course. I typically recommend allowing around one to two hours for couple portraits on an elopement day, especially when we have the freedom to explore multiple locations.
But we’ll also photograph everything in between.

What About the Weather?
If you’re planning a beach elopement, weather will probably cross your mind. And yes, Greek summers are beautiful. But I also don’t recommend building your entire experience around obsessively checking the forecast. Weather can change. Clouds can create beautiful light. Wind can add movement to your photographs. And even rain can create some of the most atmospheric images of the day. The important thing is having a flexible plan and someone who can help you adapt if conditions change.

Why Choose Epirus for Your Destination Elopement?
Preveza is especially appealing for couples who want to combine their wedding with a European adventure.
You’re not simply travelling somewhere to get married and immediately flying home.
You can spend several days exploring Epirus, enjoying the coastline, discovering local food, visiting ancient sites and making your wedding trip feel like a proper holiday.
The region around Preveza also offers opportunities to combine the beach with places such as Ancient Nikopolis, while the wider area has natural landscapes, walking routes and the Acheron region to explore.
That’s one of the biggest advantages of choosing somewhere like Preveza.
Your wedding becomes part of the journey.

Your Preveza Elopement Photographer in Greece
If you’re dreaming of a destination elopement in Europe, but want something a little quieter and more personal than Greece’s most famous islands, I’d love to help you discover Preveza.
I’ll help you plan the photography timeline, suggest locations, think through light and travel between spots, and make sure there is enough breathing room in the day.
Because you shouldn’t have to spend your wedding day worrying about where you’re supposed to stand next.
You should be exploring.
Laughing.
Getting a little sandy.
And looking at the person you just married thinking, we actually did this.
That’s the kind of wedding day I want to photograph.
